Our Civic Mission

AmericanVoters is a civic engagement platform developed and operated by SeniorsUnited, Inc.

Our goal is simple: help citizens understand legislation and communicate effectively with their elected representatives.

These Terms of Use exist to ensure the platform remains respectful, secure, and available to everyone who wants to participate in the democratic process.

By using AmericanVoters, you agree to follow these terms and to participate in good faith civic engagement.

By using the platform, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 16 years old
  • You reside in the United States
  • The information you provide is truthful and accurate

Respectful Civic Participation

AmericanVoters exists to support constructive civic engagement.

We encourage users to express their views, ask questions, and hold elected officials accountable.

Disagreement is welcome. Civic participation often includes strong opinions.

However, all communication must remain respectful and lawful.

You may not use the platform to:

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Send abusive, hateful, or threatening messages
  • Distribute spam or malicious content
  • Upload viruses or harmful code
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the platform
  • Use automated tools to scrape data, flood forms, or disrupt services

Users who violate these rules may have their access restricted or terminated.

Messages to Elected Officials

AmericanVoters provides tools that allow users to send messages to members of Congress and other elected officials.

When using these tools:

  • You are responsible for the content of the messages you send
  • Your name and address may be transmitted to congressional offices to verify constituency
  • Congressional offices may store or process your message according to their own policies

AmericanVoters does not control how congressional offices store or use messages once they are delivered.

To protect access to congressional communication systems, we may limit or suspend messaging privileges if the system is abused.

Message Standards and Platform Integrity

To maintain responsible civic communication and protect our ability to deliver messages to Congress, we may review messages submitted through the platform.

We do not restrict content based on political viewpoint.

However, messages may be rejected or delayed if they include:

  • Threatening or profane language
  • Campaign endorsements or political advertising
  • Bulk-duplicated spam messages
  • Violations of congressional communication standards

Users who repeatedly abuse messaging tools may lose messaging privileges.

When creating an account, you agree to:
